Yue Yang returned to the Yue Clan Castle, but he couldn’t find Fourth Mother.

Neither the Old Man Yue Hai nor the deer-riding Fifth Grandfather were home. The substitute Clan Master Yue Shan and Second Uncle Yue Ling had gone to Shang Jing to prepare for the Hundred Schools Elite Tournament. Even the eldest son Yue Tian and Yue Yang’s arch-enemy, Yue Yan, had also gone to Tong Tian Tower to complete their last training… In the whole of Yue Clan Castle, other than a few elders who never came outside and far relatives, there were only a bunch of servants. Only after Yue Bing asked around did they realize that their mother had gone back to White Stone City. Furthermore, Fourth Mother had already returned after Yue Yang and Yue Bing left the Castle.

“This is weird, didn’t she want to stay behind and take care of Fourth Uncle?” Yue Yang felt that something went wrong.

Yue Yang had never met Fourth Uncle before.

He only knew that Miss Feng was taking care of him, as for how Fourth Mother got along with them, he had never thought about it before.

Could it be that Fourth Mother had gone back to White Stone City because she was bullied?

This shouldn’t be the reason as Yue Bing and him had established their strength to the Clan. Even the substitute Clan Master Yue Shan and Second Uncle Yue Ling wouldn’t dare to give her an attitude. It was unlikely that someone would provoke Fourth Mother.

So what was happening exactly?

Yue Yang felt confused and puzzled.

“Fourth Mistress said that she was relieved since there is Miss Feng to take care of Fourth Master. She also said that it wouldn’t be good to leave her house in White Stone City unattended for a long time, that’s why she brought Uncle Nan, Aunt Xu and the rest back. Fourth Master’s illness sometimes became better, other times it become worse. It was quite unstable. Miss Feng said there’s hope for him to recover only if she brought him to get some kind of medicine. I am also not sure about this.“ A butler reported the information which he had collected to Yue Yang immediately since he was afraid that he would offend this abnormal Third Young Master. Yue Yang currently wasn’t the trash Third Young Master anymore. In the eyes of the servants, he was a cruel person who would kill anyone without mercy. They were afraid their head might get chopped off if they said the wrong thing. Therefore, this butler was being very cautious.

“If that is the case…we are leaving then.” Yue Yang started to understand the situation. It was not that Fourth Mother had refused to stay and take care of Fourth Uncle, it was just that Miss Feng had taken Fourth Uncle away.

Apparently the poison which Fourth Uncle got was very serious.

Yue Yang was planning to ask what kind of medicine that Miss Feng wanted to get, but when he saw the muddled face of the butler he was sure that the butler didn’t know the detailed information.

He brought Yue Bing to Yue Clan Village to teleport to Shang Jing capital’s teleportation circle, then to Red Cliff City and lastly to White Stone City.

Although the process was quite complicated but the time spent was not too long. The only disadvantage was that it was a little costly.

Yue Yang brought Yue Bing home, full of joy and expectations.

Yue Yang liked the small but warm and peaceful house in White Stone City more than the Yue Clan Castle. He had come from this small house, thus, he had no feeling towards Yue Clan Castle and the people in there. Only Fourth Mother, Yue Bing and Yue Shuang were his close relatives. As for the others, he would never recognize them as his relatives. At the most, they were just some people he knew.

Yue Yang smelled the smell of blood once he stepped into the house.

His expression changed and he rushed into the house.

He discovered that the house was full of bloodstains. Several servants who were hiding under the basement died tragically with their blood splashed all over the place.

Yue Yang couldn’t find Fourth Mother and the little girl Yue Shuang’s dead body amongst the pile of dead people. There were no trace of the old servant, Uncle Nan and the quiet Aunt Tsu as well.

He was relieved for a moment…perhaps Fourth Mother and the little girl were not killed but were only kidnapped by the murderer.

Yue Yang was so furious that he nearly went berserk, his body nearly lost control. However, he was clearly aware that it would be stupid if he lost control and got mad. He had to get Fourth Mother and the little girl back immediately. The fresh bloodstain on the floor and the dead bodies which were not completely stiff indicated that the time they got murdered had not exceeded twenty four hours. Yue Yang suppressed his anger and checked the livor mortis and cornea of the servants’ dead body. He determined that the time the servants got murdered should be around ten hours.

Where did Fourth Mother go?

Did she escape with Uncle Nan or got kidnapped by the murderer?

And who would do this? How could they have so much guts, putting their hands on members of the Yue Clan, attacking Fourth Mother? Could it be that the robbers or the murderers had an ulterior motive?

Yue Yang was all confused. He couldn’t figure out the whole incident.

How could Fourth Mother encounter this kind of disaster when she was only home for few days? This matter was really suspicious.

However, since Yue Bing was so shocked that she was trembling non-stop, Yue Yang first created a story to comfort her, “Don’t be afraid, calm down. Fourth Mother had escaped with the help of some people. None of the dead bodies are Fourth Mother’s and Shuang-er’s, we will have to trace some clues to rescue them. Bing-er, you’re a good girl. Don’t cry. You have to be strong. Let’s bring mother back together!”

Yue Bing was too scared that she was about to faint. Her legs turned all jelly that she couldn’t even walk.

She was so frightened that her body was trembling non-stop….

Suddenly, Yue Yang remembered something. He hurriedly carried Yue Bing on his back and rushed toward the direction of the Assassin Guild.

[Vengeance Hunter]!
(Shiro: Refer to chapter 18. Yue Yang had a Bloodrose Map in his Grimoire that allows him to locate anyone he wanted to find. )

He could only know the whereabout of Fourth Mother and Shuang Er after he found the murderer. He must not delay the time to rescue them…Yue Yang was so anxious and angry that he wanted to kill all the people of White Stone City. However, he knew that he must remain calm at a time like this.

Offering a reward was not his main objective, Yue Yang only wanted to know the person who burst into his house and killed everyone.

As a result, the name of the murderer made him stunned.

He had heard the name before but never pay much attention on it…the name was ‘Chang Dao’.

When he killed Tie Kuang previously, Yue Yang had heard the name of ‘Xie Huo’ and ‘Chang Dao’ from a big breast lady in a traven. Wu Yi and Xie Huo were both killed by Yue Yang in the Merry Forest. Afterwards, Yue Yang went to Tong Tian Tower to find Yue Bing, then brought along his little sisters and Fourth Mother to rampage at Yue Clan Castle… He had indeed forgotten to kill Chang Dao, but how could Chang Dao know that he was the one who killed Tie Kuang, Wu Yi and Xie Huo? Furthermore, why would he burst into his house and kill every single person in the house, then kidnapped both Fourth Mother and the Little Girl?
(Shiro: Flashback to chapter 24. Yue Yang helped a prostitute to seek revenge and killed Tie Kuang, but Tie Kuang had the backing of Wu Yi, Xie Huo and Chang Dao. Yue Yang killed Wu Yi and Xie Huo who pursued him to take revenge on Tie Kuang, it’s also here when Wu Yi summoned Demon King Ha Xin. But basically he left out Chang Dao because he had to go to search for Yue Bing who went missing in Tong Tian Tower)

Could it be that there was someone behind who ordered him to do so?

Yue Yang recalled the way the big breast lady described Chang Dao. She said, ‘“…his blade is extremely fast. Even as he sits down and drinks liquor, he could kill dozens of people in succession with only a wave of his hands. Normally, he doesn’t come to White Stone City very often; he appears and disappears unpredictably. However, this Chang Dao has a very obvious distinctive feature; his right hand that holds his blade is much larger than his left; at least twice its size.”

Chang Dao, if only he could find him….

Yue Yang summoned his Silver Grimoire and tried to trace Chang Dao on the Bloodrose Map.

A Bloodrose Dagger appeared on top of Chang Dao’s name on the Bloodrose Map, pointing out to an area… The area was not in White Stone City, it was at a place that was more than 100 kilometer away from White Stone City, the Starved Dog Range…Starved Dog Range was part of Misty Cloud Mountain. It was named as Starved Dog Range by the mercenaries because its contour looked like the spine of a thin dog. Besides, it had a dangerous topography and the area was deserted with only groups of stray dogs roaming around the ridge.

The area was a place where brigand would also found it hard to survive. In the ridge, there were steep cliffs and precipices as well as several valleys of various sizes.

It was said that an extremely tragic war once happened at the region of Starved Dog Range causing many people died under Starved Dog Range. There were piles of human bones in the valley to this day to such an extent that the soldiers who died couldn’t be reincarnated and became the hateful ghosts that roamed around the place.

Starved Dog Range was a very famous haunted place……

Why would Chang Dao visit this kind of place?

Could it be that he was the one who had kidnapped Fourth Mother and the little girl to Starved Dog Range?

Yue Yang kept his doubt in his mind. He comforted the trembling Yue Bing with a soft voice, “Don’t be scared, Fourth Mother is safe. I found the murderer. His name is Chang Dao, the accomplice of Xie Huo. I suppose he is the one who has kidnapped Fourth Mother and Shuang Er. Fourth Mother should be somewhere at Starved Dog Range. I will rescue them immediately. Your condition is not good now, it would be better if you go back to the academy to wait for my good news. Don’t worry, I am sure I will bring Fourth Mother and Shuang Er back safely.”

“No, no, brother, I want to go, I want to go too!” Yue Bing grabbed Yue Yang’s shoulder firmly. She neither wanted to let go nor get down from his back.

“Then you have to be obedient. You must not cry. We can only rescue Fourth Mother and Shuang Er if we do not alarm the enemy.” Yue Yang felt pity of his unfortunate younger sister and Fourth Mother. He was the source of the disaster. If the enemy wanted to revenge they should’ve find him instead of them. They shouldn’t be the one who suffered.

Yue Yang kept his anger under control and comforted Yue Bing softly.

Yue Bing tried very hard to hold her tears so that she wouldn’t obstruct her elder brother. However, she was unable to control the fear and sadness deep inside her heart. She wiped her tears while she sobbed spasmodically.

As Yue Yang watched Yue Bing’s trembling hands, then looked at her eyes which were full of helplessness and her pale face, he sweared in his heart that he would rescue Fourth Mother even if he had to rampage to the eighteen levels of hell. If something happened to Fourth Mother and the little girl, Yue Yang decided that he would kill every single person related to this case to avenge them, even if he became a killing machine who killed ceaselessly!
(Shiro: Chinese believes that there are eighteen levels of hell. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diyu)

Certainly, Yue Yang would rescue Fourth Mother at all costs.

“Let’s go, Hui Tai Lang!” Yue Yang kicked Hui Tai Lang as a hint for it to lead them to the destination by following their scent.

It would be nearer to Starved Dog Range if they teleported from White Stone City to Black Forest City. But the Starved Dog Range was too big. If the target of the Bloodrose Map was not in the main city, it would not show a location specifically. Therefore, although teleportation was nearer, it would delay the time for rescue as they wouldn’t have an accurate target to pursue. It would be better to let Hui Tai Lang track their scent and follow it along the way.

If this still did not work, then they would teleport to Black Forest City and change their route to Starved Dog Range.

Moreover, there was an advantage if Hui Tai Lang lead the way. It leaded the way according to the scent of Fourth Mother and the little girl. If the target was not at Starved Dog Range then it could prove that they were not with Chang Dao.

It would not be too late to go to Starved Dog Range to kill Chang Dao after he found Fourth Mother and the little girl.

Hui Tai Lang moved like an arrow and leaded the route ahead to Starved Dog Range….Yue Yang controlled his anger which was merely about to go out of control. He followed after Hui Tai Lang and dashed out from the city while carrying Yue Bing on his back. At night, the city gate of White Stone City was about to close. Since Yue Yang had nowhere to release his temper, he shouted angrily, “Those who block my path shall perish!”

The sound was as loud as thunder. Yue Yang moved like a dragon and laid a strong and heavy punch on the city gate.

The huge city gate was broken into innumerable pieces of wooden chips immediately.

The soldiers guarded on the city wall fell onto the ground as a result of the huge shock wave.

Until Yue Yang left like a hurricane and disappeared in the dark as he gone far away, the soldiers were shuddering while standing up. They looked at each other in dismay without knowing what was happening.

White Stone City Master was sipping tea leisurely at home. Suddenly, he heard a deafening sound. His hands shook and the tea spilled all over his luxurious clothes.

When his subordinates hurriedly reported to him, he wrinkled his brows.

“What is going on? Why would someone smash the city gate in White Stone City without any reason? Moreover, no one has this kind of capability besides of Master Golden Blade and I. This is really odd…wait a minute, there’s another person who could do this…don’t tell me that something happened to that boy? God, please don’t let this happen!” White Stone City’s master didn’t bother to give orders to his subordinates, he had to handle the matter himself. He rose high into the air, jumped over the high wall and flew away as he swept past the roof ridge.

Master Golden Blade had already arrived on the scene when the White Stone City Master landed at Yue Yang’s little courtyard.

The expression on Master Golden Blade’s face was extremely serious, “This is a disaster. All Yue Clan’s servants were killed. Fourth Mistress and the kid went missing. It’s really a big trouble this time.”

White Stone City’s master trembled after he listened to what Master Golden Blade said, “Who is so daring to attack Yue Clan’s member? Moreover, Fourth Mistress was just home for few days. It couldn’t be such a coincidence even if it was just a robbery. Could it be that this is premeditated? We’re dead, this is certainly a big and serious matter.”

“It would be fine if they come for Yue Clan but it would be a great disaster if they come for Hua Clan’s older sister.” Master Golden Blade said bitterly.
(Shiro: Fourth Mother is from the Hua Clan)

“Impossible. No one should have known about the identity of Fourth Mistress…” White Stone City’s Master trembled again as he heard what Master Golden Blade said, his face dripping with sweat.

  1. 28th00 says:

Nobody touches my Loli and Fourth Mother! There shall be no “Starved Dog Range” anymore, It shall be “Slaughtered Dog Range” from now on!

  2. appelemac says:

    Thanks for the chapter!

Fumu, just to point it out, some of the verbs are wrong, eg.:
“Hui Tai Lang moved like an arrow and leaded the route ahead to Starved Dog Range” -> leaded -> led

  3. Trevor Evans says:

As I started reading this and read the title I stared to freak out sweet. My heart was pounding as I read through this… my body feels light and weak now. This story is so good.
    Thanks for the chaper!

  4. metazoxan says:

Someone just fucked up. Someone seriously fucked up more than they could possibly imagine. In the future they will tell stories of this guy as a cautionary tale and legend.

  5. Nex Serus says:

When I saw the title I can’t help but mumbled that someone will going to die in this chapter or next. After all who would survive if you attack his mother and loli?

      • metazoxan says:

But we only knew she was a daughter of some other family. But the fact the main branch was willing to bully her implied she wasn’t anyone too big.

But apparently she’s actually has some pretty serious connections that make attacking her even more of a problem than attacking a member of the Yue family.

But nothing her family could possibly do could compare to what the MC is going to do to them when he finds them.

        • DMR says:

You are actually wrong there… She even claimed to be from an influential family…

It was just because her husband and son were seen as weak and the hate towards the 4th branch that she was bullied…

That said, they probably didn’t know just HOW influential her background was… But her having a great background probably wasn’t a secret.

Just because of her family background, they wouldn’t give her face..

        • Mythic Beast says:

Yeah but her family can probably tolerate a bit of bullying. If Fourth Mother has been seriously injured or even killed however, then that’s a different story altogether.

That’s probably what the White Stone City master is afraid of. That the Hua clan will find out that a member of their clan has been kidnapped/killed and all hell will break loose.

  6. spoilerproof says:

    thanks for the chapter~
the fourth mother better be safe…or else another level of hell might be created….

  7. Random bypasser says:

Hmm, this author has some issues with his pacing. It’s been nonstop exhausting action since…I can’t even remember how long. Yue Yang just keeps jumping from one disaster/fight to another without any downtime in between. It’s getting pretty tiring at this point.

  8. night0lw says:

I can’t wait to see why the hua family is a big deal. I find it funny that he hasn’t thought that this is a set up along with what just happened at the mountain their timing and preparation are to perfect not to be

  9. ambi says:

Thanks for the chapter Sergio Bottse, class_sleeper, Fabrice QUERRARD, tom wellbrock , Alex Degaldo, May, and Shiroyukineko!

  10. Michael says:

Yue Yang couldn’t find Fourth Mother and the little girl Yue Shuang’s dead body amongst the pile of dead people.

Little grammatical mistake there nearly made me spit my drink mid sentence. saying ‘and the little girl’s dead body’ instead of ‘or the little girl’s dead body’ changes the meaning entirely. the second one means he couldn’t find either persons bodys, while the first one means he couldnt find the mother but he is looking at the girls dead body.

  11. Erudite_Birdy says:

Is ‘Livor Mortis’ what he was really checking?
Since he looked at a cornea he must know something about Algor Mortis. (see below)
However, most people know about Rigor Mortis, not the other two.
I copied the information below so you don’t have to go searching for it.

    * 🤔* How does he have the expertise to make a call on the time of death? I find that to be really creepy. *

    Livor Mortis

Livor Mortis (Lividity) is the settling of blood in body due to gravity. Livor Mortis starts to develop 2-4 hours after death, becomes non-fixed or blanchable up to 8-12 hours after death and fixed or non-blanchable after 8-12 hours from the time of death. In addition to the pooling of blood, small vessels breakdown throughout the body producing what is called petechial hemorrhages or Tardieu Spots.

Blanching is what occurs when you press your finger on your skin and you see a white spot for a few seconds. The lightening of the skin comes from the pressure of your finger pushing the blood away from that area for a few seconds. Lack of blood in the area means lack of color until the blood rushes back once the pressure is removed. Investigators will press their finger in an area of pooled blood to see if the area is fixed or not to further determine the time of death. This process is generally done at the crime scene.

The pooling of blood is a physical process based on the loss of blood pressure when the heart stops beating and will therefore occur at the same rate whether the temperature is cold or not, so it is less susceptible to atmosphere than rigor. But as you can see from the timeline below, Livor does not have very precise measurement of the time of death after 12 hours so it is also less helpful on bodies found days or weeks after death.

    Rigor Mortis

Immediately after death all of the muscles in the body relax. Slowly over the next 24 to 48 hours the body starts to stiffen (not contract but just lock in place) due to a buildup of acid in the muscle tissues. This stiffening process, called Rigor Mortis, has a roughly known time of occurrence and can therefore be used to estimate time of death. In general:

If the body feels warm and no rigor is present, death occurred under 3 hours before.
If the body feels warm and stiff, death occurred 3-8 hours earlier.
If the body feels cold and stiff, death occurred 8-36 hours earlier.
If the body is cold and not stiff, death occurred more than 36 hours earlier.
The use of Rigor Mortis as a time of death indicator is less than ideal because of the large spans of time it encompasses. The windows can vary by as much as 24 hours. There are also several factors that can severely impact the onset and timeline of Rigor:

    activity before death
physical conditions where the body are found

Because the reason for Rigor Mortis is a chemical reaction, the kinetics of the reaction can be affected by the same factors as any other chemical reaction. The temperature around the body will either increase the rate of rigor (hot) or slow it down (cold). Illnesses that already cause the body to have increased amounts of acid in the muscle tissue (higher concentration) will increase the rate of rigor. Strenuous activity right before death will also increase the rate of rigor since activity also increases the amount (concentration) of acid in the muscles. Other environmental aspects can cause a change in the rigor timeline, most specifically movement of the body once rigor has set in. If the body is manipulated during the process of rigor, forced to move or bend despite being stiff, the rigor is broken and will not reform back to normal standards. This makes setting time of death for bodies that have been manipulated or dumped using the Rigor Mortis timelines harder or impossible.

    Algor Mortis

Algor Mortis is the cooling of the body after death. I’m leaving out the equation and information about this as I’m sure he wouldn’t check on this 😳…and you’d probably don’t want to know about it either.

Also occurring around the time of Algor Mortis is the filming over of the eyes:
Investigators at the scene can look at the eyes to make an approximate time of death based on the cloudiness seen.
